Our English Cocker Spaniel

We got our first Vizsla, named Flashman, in the early 1970's.  He was sent from the Midwest to New York and arrived at our local pet shop, petrified.  We felt bad for him and just had to take him home.  Although he was always a bit of a nervous dog, it didn't deter us from getting another Vizsla a few years later.

Okie was a Vizsla that we purchased from a breeder and shortly thereafter, we also got his sister, Dory. It was after purchasing these two dogs that we truly learned the value of working with a reputable breeder.

Okie turned out to be an amazing obedience dog, had a great nose for birds and occasionally made an appearance in the Junior Showmanship ring with Rachel and Andrea!

Okie and Dory made such an impact on our family that we have had Vizslas ever since!  Dory (Ch. Kinghill's Just Hunky Dory CDX, JH, VC) became the foundation bitch for Willorunn Vizslas.

Special wins for Willorunn included High in Trial at the VCA Nationals (Okie).

Best of Breed at Westminster with Willow (Ch. Willo Runn's Bearly a Whisper) in 1988 under judge Marjorie Martorella.

A bit later, we took in another rescued Vizsla, this time a female named Becky.  She had amazing drive in the field!  She is pictured below winning the Field Trial Class at a Specialty.

Dot and her daughters began the adventure of going to dog shows with their newly acquired Vizslas in 1980.  Shortly thereafter we were introduced to field trials, obedience trials, and junior showmanship.  Almost 30 years later, it is still a thrill!  Below is Rachel (at age 15) handling Dory to a placement and a leg toward her CD.
